Corbans’ winemakers craft this range of complex varietal wines from premium Hawke’s Bay fruit to be ideal companions for food.

Luscious dark fruit aromas are layered with subtle French oak characters to create a complex, enticing wine.

Vintage:	2007
Colour:	Vibrant ruby red
Aromas:	Luscious plum and cassis characters with hints of savoury oak

Palate:

A rich, intense wine with ripe forest berry flavours, highly-integrated oak characters and lingering silky tannins

Whilst drinking well now, this wine will continue to develop in complexity.

Ideal cellaring time is two to five years from the vintage year.

“Corbans Private Bin Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2005 has many of the best elements of syrah from the region. It fills the nose with cherry and violets and the mouth with savoury cherry and berryfruit. Great individually and enough balance to be a recommended match for rich but delicate meat dishes - duck and orange, herbed lamb, even an oily fish. I enjoyed it with a lamb roast and it also went well with the blue cheese and cracker entrée. Versatile and tasty, syrah is the new pinot. Bring it on."
